Popliteal artery injury during knee replacement surgery, although rare, is a serious complication and can have devastating consequence for a patient as well as medico legal perspective. Most of the available information is anecdotal and there is a lack of consensus as to how such a complication should be managed. Therefore we are conducting a survey at international level on this subject. And I very much hope that we would be able to gather sufficient information in order to draw up a meaningful recommendation.
